ArrGh! There are soooo many surprises in Mortal Coil! I tell ya! Most of them aren't particularly... um... nice surprises... I will not mention any at all because I don't want to spoil anything but I will say that someone... pretty awesome I suppose... gets killed by another person who is always with him/her. And something quite terrible happens to Tanith!! WHY DEREK? WHY?? There are some new people also. The 3 extra people off the Skulduggery Pleasant Battle Cards that you get on the Munchkin Army game on http://www.skulduggerypleasant.co.uk/ finally appear in Mortal Coil! Fantastic isn't it? More characters! It is much more hilarious than the other books too.. I thought... But, y'know. All of them are just soooo terrific!!

"Is not progressing nearly as smoothly," Wreath admitted. "She doesn't seem to be at all interested in the history or the teachings of the Order. It's going to take a lot to open her mind to it."
"The skeleton has already poisoned her against us," Tenebrae said bitterly.
"I fear you may be right. But I still thing the  effort is worth it."
"And I have yet to be convinced."
"Just because the girl is a fast learner," Quiver said, "does not mean she is the Death Bringer."
"Cleric Quiver speaks the trut," Tenebrae nodded.
Wreath did his best to look humble, keeping his comments to himself. He's been searching for their saviour, for the one who would save the world from itself, for most of his life. He knew full well the danger of false hope and blind alleys - he'd had his fair share of both. But Valkyrie Cain was different. He felt it. Valkyrie Cain was the one.
"She troubles me," Tenebrae said. "Does she have potential? Absolutely. With training and with study she could be the best of us. But the best of us still falls far short of the the Death Bringer should be."
"I''ll keep working with her," Wreath said. "In two years, maybe three, we'll have a better understanding off what she's capable of."
"Three years?" Tenebrae laughed. "A lot can happen, as we have seen, in a short space of time. Serpine. Vengeous. The Diablerie. Dare we risk being sidetracked by a mistake? While we are busy testing Miss Cain, another one of Mevolents's disciples might actually succeed in their insane goals and bring back the Faceless Ones for good. What if, as you yourself fear, Cleric Wreath, Lord Vile returns to punish us all? If that happens, our plans mean nothing. There will be no world to save."
"Then what does His Eminence suggest?" Wreath asked.
"We need to know if we are wasting our time with this one."
"A Sensitive," Craven nodded.
"We've tried this before," Wreath argued. "None of our psychics are able to tell us anything."
"Reading the future has never been a particular talent of the Necromancer Order," Tenebrae said. "Our Sensitives are somewhat lacking when it comes to fortune-telling. But there is another I keep hearing about. Finbar something..."
"Finbar Wrong," Wreath said. "But he knows Valkyrie personally. It would raise too many questions. Even if he didn't know her, I doubt he'd ever aid our cause. As I keep reminding you, nobody out there likes us."
"We're working to save them all!" Craven barked, and this time not even the High Priest paid him any attention.
"The psychic will help us," Tenebrae said, "and afterwards he will remember nothing about it. Cleric Wreath, I want you to take the Soul Catcher and release the Remnant we have trapped in it."
Wreath's face slackened. "Your Eminence, Remnants are highly dangerous..."
"Oh, I trust your ability to handle any situation," Tenebrae said with an airy wave of his hand. "Have it possess this Finbar person, and if he sees a future where Valkyrie Cain is the Death Bringer, and he sees her saving the world, then we can put all our energies into making sure she fulfils her potential. If he does not see this future, we forget about her, and our search sontinues."
"But using the Remnant..."
"Once the job is done, simply return it to the Soul Catcher. What could be easier?"

Wreath's Task

The doors swung open and High Priest Auron Tenebrae strode into the room, his robe swirling around his tall, narrow frame. To his right was Quiver, a miser with words, but overly generous with withering glares. To Tenebrae's left, Craven, a bland sycophant possessed of an uncanny skill to worm his way into his superior's good graces. Solomon Wreath had been seeing far too much of all three lately.
"Cleric Wreath," Tenebrae said, nodding imperiously at him.
"Your Eminence," Wreath responded, bowing deeply. "To what do I owe the honour?"
"Why do you think we're here?" Craven said, almost sneered. "You're late with your report. Did you think the High Priest would forget? Do you think him a fool?"
"I do not think him a fool, no," Wreath answered calmly. "But as to the intelligence of the people that accompany him, I'm afraid I cannot say."
"An insult!" Craven screeched. "How dare you! How dare you use a derogatory tone in the presence of the High Priest!"
"Enough," Tenebrae sighed, "both of you. Your constant bickering tries my patience."
"My humblest apologies," Craven said immediately, bowing and closing his eyes, his lower lip trembling on the verge of tears. A magnificent performance, as usual.
"Yes," Wreath said. "Sorry about that."
"Despite Cleric Craven's overt dramatics," Tenebrae said, "he is quite correct to point out that you are late with your report. How is Valkyrie Cain progressing through her studies?"
"She's a fast learner," said Wreath. "As far as the practical side goes anyway. She's a natural at shadow casting, and every time I see her she's improved."
"And the philosophical aspect?" Quiver asked.

Riverbend Books - Brisbane - Derek Landy Aussie Tour - March 2010

Just wondering... was anyone there seeing Derek Landy on his Aussie tour when he went to Riverbend Books in Brisbane? IT WAS FANTASTIC! He was soooo funny, talking about his cats and how they kept breeding and whatever. I could've stayed there and listened to him all week.... OR LONGER! I really hope he comes again... I got all 4 SP books that are out at the moment signed by him and I had my pic taken with him!! I treasure those wonderful souveniers (how do you spell souveiners - soveniours - sooveneers... whatever). Comment on here if you were there coz it was soooo kool. They ran out of tickets for it. We were lucky to get in! We got a free Dark Days bag and everything! IT WAS GREAT!

Is there anyone who would happen to know how to use Blender properly... it's a animation program. I desperately want to make a Skulduggery Pleasant movie, but 1. I have to draw the front side and back views of the characters, 2. I need to create them and the scenes and 3. I want to get Derek Landy's permission before I do anything. Won't it be just awesome when the movie comes out? Only, the movie had better have at least EVERYTHING in the book, actors that look the part AND have great talent and Derek Landy should have a say in everything.
Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland was FANTASTIC! That's really great greenscreen animation (of course made to look so real - with real peopl and whatnot). That's what the Skulduggery Pleasant movie should be like! *GASP* JOHNNY DEPP SHOULD BE IN IT! I HAVE NO BLOODY IDEA WHO HE COULD PLAY, BUT JUST PUT HIM IN WITH MAKE-UP! HE IS THE BEST ACTOR EVER! THE MAD HATTER IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE MOVIE CHARACTER... As are the Cheshire Cat, the Tweedles and Mallymkun the mouse though! BUT THAT'D B KOOL! Well, when the SP movie comes out, I bet my faves would be all those characters.

I desperately need to know what the song is called for the Futterwacken dance in Alice in Wonderland and where I can find it on the internet, whether it's a safe downloading site or a safe buying site, like iTunes or something... (BTW: Checked there and it had no sounds like the Futterwacken in the AIW soundtrack... I think, unless they took the listening samples from a different part of the entire song...). Anyway... If you know what it's called or, where to find it, I would be ever so grateful and very glad... Wanna do it in a school dancing assignment for Health and Physical Education (HPE)... Try and get a good report card LOL.

Have you checked out Skulduggery Pleasant on YouTube yet? There is a few interesting items on there... But wouldn't it be just GREAT if they made the Skulduggery Pleasant movie. Apparently Warner Bros are considering making it as another family movie after the Harry Potter series, which is going to have two movies for the 7th book (The Deathly Hallows)... But SP fans don't want to wait that long. It was supposed to apparently be coming out in 2011 but I reckon that's just very wishful thinking. But fingers crossed, Harry Potter finishes and then SP gets made... and soon! And the characters need to look like the characters in the book... Now tell me... Who do you think should play the main characters of Skulduggery Pleasant (the 1st book). That is, Skulduggery, Valkyrie, Ghastly, Tanith and probably China. (I reckon China might be a tad difficult considering she's the most beautiful woman in the world.)

Mortal Coil people... SP, Book 5!!

Mortal Coil Synopsis -

Skulduggery Pleasant is back and reunited with his original head. But all is not well in the magical world - for one thing, foreign powers are conspiring to take over the Irish Sanctuary and for another thing, Valkyrie has discovered she might be the sorceress set to destroy the world. The problem is, she doesn't feel she can tell Skulduggery what she's learned... and that's how all the trouble starts.

With Valkyrie on a quest of her own, to seal her name and prevent her evil destiny from coming to pass, Skulduggery and the gang are even more vunerable. Which is a shame, because remember those thousands of Remnants imprisoned in the Midnight Hotel? Well, now they're out. Not only that but they believe Valkyrie is they're messiah. And that means thousands of wicked souls, desperate to get to Valkyrie, willing to kill anyone in their way... oh, and because they can possess any body, they could be ANYONE!

Now Skulduggery, Valkyrie, Ghastly and Tanith can trust no one. Not even each other...

Intensifying? Suspenseful? Intriguing? I should think so... I MUST READ IT... I think I'm writing all this kool stuff 4 nothing coz I believe no one is following this blog... LOL!
Oh well... It's still pretty darn fun.
But seriously... please... if you love Skulduggery Pleasant, please please PLEASE follow. Because then I can keep writing, which in fact would be very good for me :)!
